Abstract. A systematic study on the comminution of a soft (coal) and a hard (iron ore) material is carried out to investigate the bulk comminution features of the hammer mill. The effect of the feed rate and the rotor speed on the mill efficiency in terms of reduction ratio, energy expenditure, fines produced and median size is investigated.
A coal crusher is a machine designed to break large chunks of coal into smaller, more manageable pieces. It is a crushing device specifically engineered for the efficient reduction of high-moisture content coal, overcoming the challenges associated with traditional crushing methods. The coal crusher plays a crucial role in various industries ...
The crushing degree of broken coal-rock mass is influenced by various factors including stress during compaction, mixed types of coal-rock mass, type (strength) of coal-rock mass, and particle size [16], [17], [18], [19], [20], [21]. Additionally, when …
The effects of geological factors on the cleaning potential of Chinese bituminous coals from Anping, Xizhuang, and Yitang exploration areas were studied. The cleaning potential was evaluated in terms of coal quality and cleanability. Distribution maps of resources with different cleaning potentials were prepared using mapping and …
The dependency on coal rank was attributed to the larger amount of volatiles that had to be removed from the lower ranked coals, and the increasing dielectric loss of the organic component of the ...

This paper presents factors affecting the overall performance of the Çayeli mine crushing plant operation by addressing the critical design parameters as well as the consideration of ore The coal hammer crusher is the key equipment for crushing large raw coal in the underground coal The machine is an important part of the raw coal ...
Whereas the mining factors that affect the spontaneous combustion of coal include, pillar and roof conditions, rate of advance, ventilation system and airflow, waste material in abandoned areas, mining method, multi-seam working, heat from machines, and worked out areas. These factors have been reported in [8], [15], [23], …
1. Introduction. Over the last 100 years or so, knowledge about coke making and the slot oven design has been gradually optimised. However the fundamental process surrounding the transformation of coal to coke remains essentially the same, with the use of conventional ovens heating coal feed stocks for at least 16 h [1].Whilst many aspects of …
Coal is used in processes such as combustion, gasification, and liquefaction and in carbonization for the manufacture of metallurgical coke. Coal and its derivative products are also used as precursors of other materials and in the production of chemicals. There are two characteristics that influence the use of coal: its composition and its rank.
The authors define the phenomenon of spontaneous heating in underground coal mines as a combination of seam factor, geological factor and mining factor. These latter two factors are discussed in a practical manner from the early work of Fayol in 1879 through to the findings of modern day researchers. The paper assesses the significance …
Moisture adsorption in the coal seams affects the gas adsorption capacity and can alter the coal deformation and permeability criteria of the coal seam. The effect of dynamic loss of moisture content, both on moisture and gas sorption-induced coal swelling/shrinkage strains, during the coalbed methane (CBM) production, is crucial. This …
Investigation on tectonically deformed coal particle crushing . The pattern of particle crushing is closely linked to specific force chains Particle rotation is a significant factor affecting particle crushing, and it hinders the connection of shear zones Crushed particles decrease porosity by filling the gaps between larger particlesThe occurrence and …
Crushing plants have been of great interest in reducing the particle size of ores milling operations need to consider sustainable …
Profound seawater influence and iron deficiency are key factors in the formation of SHOS Guidin coal. The sulfur content of coal macerals is highly variable. Sporinite embedded in vitrinite is higher in organic sulfur than surrounding vitrinite in Illinois Basin coals. A high efficiency of organic sulfur formation in sporinite may be resulted ...
Coal crushing occurs during the preparation and development stages [54]. Among them, the geological factors at the preparation stage and the presence of …

Outburst energy is a major factor influencing coal and gas outbursts, albeit its estimation is difficult owing to the lack of amenable means for quantification of gas desorption. In the past decades, determining the mechanism of outbursts is one of the most challenging issues in rock mechanics. In this study, a triaxial coal and gas outburst …
To explore the migration and crushing characteristics of the outburst coal, outburst simulation experiments under different gas pressures (0.3 MPa, 0.5 MPa, and 0.8 MPa) were carried out using ...
At present, inhibitors have been widely used in the field of coal fire prevention and control, but there are some defects in the use of them. So it is necessary to find a new practical and economical inhibitor. Dissolvable tiny- extinguisher (DTE) is environment-friendly, high in thermal stability, and fast in cooling. In view of the good …
The types and quantities of functional groups are therefore primary factors in determining the likelihood of spontaneous combustion in a particular coal [11], [12], [13]. Under actual combustion conditions, coal oxidation is subject to kinetic control and low-temperature oxidation kinetics studies of coal oxidation have recently been performed ...
The result can indirectly verify whether coal crushing is an important source of CO generation. 3.1.1. Crushing time. ... Moisture content of coal is one of the main factors affecting CO generation during coal crushing, followed by the hardness and destruction degree of coal. For low-temperature oxidation, coal with low metamorphic …
